The Brief
Everything worth knowing.
Straight answers, no fluff. Read what applies to your home — skip what doesn't.
Why your driveway looks patchy after a normal pressure wash
A standard wand leaves obvious lines and stripes because it cleans in narrow, uneven passes. We use a flat surface cleaner — a rotating enclosed head that covers the concrete evenly in overlapping circles. The result is a uniform clean across the whole driveway, without the patchy striped look you get from DIY jobs or cowboy operators using a wand on flat concrete.
Pre-treatment first, pressure second
Oil drips, mould, moss and organic grime sit in the pores of concrete and pavers and won't lift with water pressure alone. We apply a pre-treatment matched to what's on your driveway — a degreaser for oil, a mould and algae treatment for shaded damp areas — and let it dwell before washing. That breaks down staining at the source instead of just pushing it around.
Iron rust removal with oxalic acid
Rust stains from garden stakes, outdoor furniture legs or bore water sprinklers are common on Melbourne driveways and won't budge with regular cleaning. We use an oxalic acid-based rust treatment that chemically lifts iron staining from concrete and pavers without damaging or discolouring the surface underneath.
Brightener rinse for an even finish
After cleaning we apply a concrete and paver brightener as a final rinse. This step neutralises any remaining alkalinity from cleaning agents, evens out colour variation across the surface, and leaves your driveway looking genuinely refreshed rather than just 'wet clean'.
Every driveway surface, treated correctly
Plain concrete, exposed aggregate, stamped concrete and pavers all need different pressure settings and treatments. Aggregate and stamped concrete are more delicate and can be damaged by excessive pressure, while pavers need joint sand protected during the clean. We adjust our approach and equipment to suit whatever's underfoot.
Bundle with a house wash and save
Most jobs we quote around Melbourne end up combining a driveway clean with a house wash, since we're already on site with the same equipment. Bundling saves you a second call-out fee and gets your whole exterior looking sharp in one visit — ask us for a combined quote.

Driveway Cleaning FAQ
Answers before you ask.
What's a flat surface cleaner and why does it matter?+
It's a rotating enclosed cleaning head that sits flush on the ground and spins jets of water underneath it. Unlike a hand-held wand, it covers concrete and pavers in even overlapping passes, so you don't end up with the tiger-stripe pattern you get from uneven wand strokes.
Can you remove oil stains from my driveway?+
Most oil stains lift well with our degreasing pre-treatment combined with pressure cleaning. Very old, deeply set oil stains that have soaked into porous concrete may lighten significantly rather than disappear completely, but we'll be upfront about what result to expect before we start.
Will pressure cleaning damage my pavers or exposed aggregate?+
Not when it's done properly. We adjust pressure and nozzle distance for each surface type, and use lower pressure on stamped concrete and aggregate to avoid etching or dislodging joint sand on pavers. We top up paver joint sand if any gets washed out during the clean.
How does the rust removal treatment work?+
We apply an oxalic acid-based treatment directly to rust-stained areas, which chemically breaks down the iron staining without harsh scrubbing or high pressure. Safe for concrete and pavers and works well on stains from garden furniture, tools and reticulation.
Do you clean the whole driveway or just the stained bits?+
We clean the full driveway for a consistent result, then spot-treat any rust or oil staining with targeted products. Cleaning just the stained patches tends to leave obvious clean spots against the rest of the surface.
Can I get my house washed at the same time?+
Yes — one of our most popular combinations. We're already set up on site, so bundling a house wash with your driveway clean is efficient and usually works out cheaper than booking the two separately.
How long does a driveway clean take?+
A standard residential driveway typically takes 1 to 2 hours depending on size, surface type and how much pre-treatment is needed. Larger driveways, heavily stained surfaces, or jobs bundled with a house wash will take longer — we'll give you a time estimate with your quote.
